Denise Nugent began working with Peter Tolkin Architecture in 2016. Her work with the firm focuses on the conceptual development and representation of completed projects such as the Branch House in Montecito and the Sunglass House in Malibu.

During her studies she received a number of awards for her studio projects. She focused her senior thesis project on the human theatrics and interaction displayed in architecture. Prior to joining PTA Denise worked for several summers at Roto Architects on the conceptual development of multiple projects. In 2016 She was one of three students selected by the faculty to represent Cal Poly Pomona at the Julius Shulman Emerging Talent Award Student Competition.

Denise received her Bachelor of Architecture in 2016 from California Polytechnic University of Pomona. In the fall of 2014 she was an exchange student at the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology in Taiwan.
